Regular attendees of Holy Grounds already know that it’s a special event when Ray Melograne appears, and this past March was no exception. It’s been a joy to watch Ray as his ministry has grown with each successive appearance. While it might not be the most spiritual revelation I’ve ever had during one of Ray’s shows, it was no less wonderful: that Ray is really smooth on the saxophone! In addition to ministering to the audience between songs, there was, of course, the songs themselves. Ray performed a great mixture of songs consisting of both his own and others’, including “My Father”, “You”, “What Can I Say”, and “My First Love”. More then just uplifting words and music, Ray helped explain the meanings of the songs, and offered his own perspective and experiences. At one point during the evening, Ray performed one of his favorite songs, “Revelation Song”, and introduced me to one of my new favorites, “Not By Sight”.
