Nightsong Music - March '06 |
|
| |
On March 18th, 2006 Holy Grounds coffee house was blessed to welcome back Bill Cooper and Bette Kron of Nightsong music, and it was a great night of entertainment and fellowship. The highlights were more than just musical, with joking interaction with the crowd and an impromptu backup vocal appearance from members of the audience. Of course, the music was central to the evening, and all in attendance seemed inspired by Bill and Bette’s mixture of original works and classic hymns. The classic hymns got a breath of life from Bill and Bette’s delivery, including favorites such as “Everlasting Arms”, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, a melody of “Were You There (When They Crucified My Lord)”, and even the Sunday-school staple “Jesus Loves Me”. Many of the songs performed that evening were included on their new CD, “Approach”, including several original works such as “I’ll Never Give Up”, “He Took the Fall”, and “On My Way to Work”, a lighthearted song reminding us to bring Jesus with us into our routine which drew laughs and applause from those in attendance. There were serious moments as well, especially when Bill shared his personal testimony as a segue into his song “Okay to Be Me”.
We had a great turnout, and it was evident on the faces of those in attendance it was a very good evening for all!
